What would you say you do, creatively speaking?
I create beautiful things. While photography in of itself isn't exactly genre specific I do love being able to control all aspects of my art.
When and how did you start?
I started photography about 4 years ago. I mainly got started because of my desire to create and to have something beautiful to go along with my poetry. But also because I wanted to challenge myself to do better than those around me.
Who all has supported you?
A few good people here and there. My friend Alexis was the first person to take a leap and let me start working on portraits with people. Then there was the Bird Gang for a little while. When the camera store was here they were very supportive as well. I would especially like to thank my most recent muse. My Crow. Also 20/20 Vintage and Monica Ellison for supporting me as a fellow business owner
Who or what has inspired or influenced you?
I wouldn't necessarily say anyone specific. But a lot of paintings are what inspired me not necessarily other photographers. Also my Crow.
What has been your favorite part on this journey?
The creation and the expansion of my circle.
What has been the most challenging part?
Definitely learning to moderate my honesty, I pride myself on being a very straight forward person and that isn't always a endearing quality.
Have you ever wanted to give up?
No, I have been discouraged but never thought about quitting.
What keeps you motivated to continue?
Pride and spite. I want to be well known and to overcome.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to begin selling their work or putting themselves out there?
To not sacrifice your values or great qualities to fit in with the IN crowd. Be you because what makes the community beautiful is its diversity of character.
Has anything pleasantly surprised you? What?
People actually support me and look up to me as a artist.
Is there anything you wish you would have known when you first started?
Who to trust and not to trust it could have saved me several missteps and mistakes.
What is your definition of success?
A lack of dependency on anyone else and Financial freedom. Also a measure of recognition
