Meet this talented tattoo artist who draws on more than just bodies, as she hands us her drawings and paintings--some of which you can admire downtown at Skeleton Key Curios.
What all do you do creatively?
I tattoo, I draw, and I paint every once in a while.
When and how did you start?
I’ve been drawing since I was younger but I started tattooing about a year and a half ago. I was working at a restaurant that my now-mentor and his business partner used to frequent and one day I mustered up the courage to ask one of them if they can take a look at my portfolio. A few weeks later I started my apprenticeship.
What has been your favorite part?
Whenever I get done with a piece and my client goes to look in the mirror and smiles is probably my favorite part.
What has been the most challenging part?
The pressure, definitely! The fact that people even would let me put something on their body that’ll stay forever still blows my mind. It’s fun, but there’s also another side to it.
What are your dreams?
To have the freedom to do I wanna do, tattoo what I wanna tattoo, and not have to worry about money while doing what I love... that’s the dream.
You can support these dreams by purchasing her work from our shop or by getting your next tattoo from her at Black Point Tattoo.
