David's minis are quick pieces driven by feeling. "I just like to summarize how I feel at the moment in one short sentence and draw a picture that goes with it."
David's self-portraits are a bit more tedious to do. "I use my own face as a reference and then exaggerate or simplify features to fit the tone. They're self portraits because they portray my personal feelings."
Although his pieces may look like they're trying to convey specific emotions, they rarely are. "However that pieces makes you feel, just roll with it. I might be trying to say something, I might not. Don't overthink it and just go with your knee-jerk reaction."
